Dan, you KNOW how the edge is ground! There are two major advantages to the dull edge. No matter how huge and / or conceilable the balisong is, I can claim it isn't a knife. And, when I show it to a non-knife people who always run their finger along the blade and cut himself, I feel safe with this bali.
Federico, it's from balisong heaven. Please remember, there in the world are 5-footer! To my sorrow, none is mine. This type of sword that has as long handle as the standard size blade was called Nagamaki (long handler sword). It has amother name Zanbato (horse cutting sword). Some people say founder of Iaido carried this kind. If I had enough money, I'd ask a swordmaster to make a more sturdy balisong of that size made of Tamahagane, with bearings at the pivot. Here's a problem. Estimated cost is around $10 thousand....
Chris, I've always been impressed their accuracy in grinding the blade. Desing is simple and beautiful. With this bali, your "question" can be clearly answered. "Not to use". I fear that a slightest shock will pop the blade pins! Well, I can replace them if only I can survive the flying blade toward me.
batangueno, please tell me more about the comedian! A comedian with big balisong is just out of my imagination. Sounds more scary than funny to me.
Kim Kyuisu, I used three different bali for the pix. Next time I'll try boot knife version, or drawing from sleeve version.
