In praise of ebony: Traditional knives in the prince of wood

Here is my one and only Hatch, clearly the ebony has not held up well. The knife works well though.

Tidioute Maverick stockman. This is one of my favorite patterns, doesn't seem to get much attention around here.

I just got this one at a knife show this weekend. I knew it was a Norhtwoods knife but the seller didn't know much about it either. He didn't know the blade steel, and said he thought it was a factory second, no blade stamp though stating it was a factory 2nd. The only thing I could find was a very small nick on the covers and a small space between the back spring and the brass liner. I got an extremely great deal on this knife and I am glad I got it. When I got home I did some research and realized it was an 2014 Northwoods Indian River Jack with stainless steel. It was my first ss traditional and I love the simplicity of this knife. Its a great pocket knife.

Great pics everyone!
Thanks BigBiscuit (on side note I loved your Green Tc Barlow mod you did, makes me want want to try and track one down now!)
Here is another fan of my new knife.

Fantastic find jlhoffman74 !!!
The Indian River Jack is one of my all time favorites for it's classic looks.
I also appreciate the use of modern materials in Tradition knives. If I'm not mistaken the S.S. is CPM154.
Mine is the smooth white bone, but hopefully one day I'll be able to pick up an ebony as well.
