In Praise of the mini

This is really funny timing, I was just plotting on how to pick up a Mini! I loved the one of yours I played with. Seems like a great woods partner. Sadly the cost is borderline ridiculous for them right now. Tough decisions...

For sure. I think I paid 75 bucks for mine:rolleyes: I thought THAT was a lot since the Wildlife I bought was 52.

I probably wouldn't buy one now either. On the other hand if you look at the prices charged by custom makers for little pocket hatchets of the same size it's maybe even a bargain. Also the edge on GB is way better than most of the custom hatchets I have seen.

That's been my logic so far, too. There really aren't any good contenders for budget mini-sized hatchets. Some of the old stuff floating around ebay are probably contenders, but require refurbishing (not all of which is something I could comfortably do, I believe). Customs have waits, cost, etc. attached to them.

I may just wait until I can find a used one or get one on a trade, but I don't think I've seen one for sale in the last 6 months or so at least.

great stuff Hd... cool pics.. the mini is a sweet little tool... definitely packs a lot of punch for it's size...

Since we were around lots of water I decided to take the D2 knife this time. First time I'd taken it.
