The Cricket was my EDC for years, until I discovered assisted openers. Guess I'm just lazy.
In any case, the Cricket is a great knife. I carried it with me everywhere, including traveling. Back when it was OK to fly with knives, it never got a second look from security. The only negative reaction I ever go to it was in London, from a shopkeeper. He asked to see it and commented "that's a wicked looking little thing!" He then proceeded to warn me against being caught with it by the local constabulary.
I've been meaning to pick up the current Crickets (and the Captain and Civilian), but as I'm sure everyone out there is familiar with, there are just too many knives out there that we "need".
Here's a pic of my three Crickets, a Tuffram (at least I think it is), Carbon Fiber, and a Custom Tuffram model.
The custom was an accidental purchase. It was supposed to be a regular Tuffram model, but that's what was in the box. It wasn't worth the hassle to cross-ship the right one, so the dealer said to just keep it. Until recently I had never noticed that they are three different blade steels, G-2, ATS-55, and GIN-1.
My favorite is the CF model. The one thing that bothered me about it is the arc of pitting where the carbon fiber scale touched the blade when closed. The pits were there when I first took it out of the box, but I liked the knife so much I couldn't be parted with it long enough to do something about it.
