In search of an upgrade from the R.A.M.

This one doesn't have the new Hawk clip but does have Philip's scales.
Amboyna wood. Very hard and pretty. :D
My next one will have the clip from Gavin, scales from Philip and be reground by Tom.

Jeezus, Mike, did you have to take those pictures so close? I can see all the scratches I missed :).

Kenny, I can cut the lock-recess in the scale extra deep to make the lock easier to use. It makes a noticeable difference. It's still better for lefties, though.

I'm really excited to get my grip clips soon. I'll post up when I get a chance to use them.

Phillip

FYI, firebert, you've got mail. Come to think of it... I hope you still use the same email address!

Hang in there, bro. The Kershaw nuts have sorta adopted the the RAM as their unofficial group knife, and remind ThomasW (Kershaw's national sales manager) that this knife needs sprint runs with better steel every chance they get. As soon as someone is willing to step up and pay for said sprint run it will happen.........patience grasshopper....patience :D

There has been a small amount of discussion about Kershaw producing a version of the RAM 3 which has the lock button on the spine. I'd be really interested to see it happen. I like the cleaner looks of the RAM 3. It would be really awesome to see a USA made RAM 3 with polished G10 scales and CPM 154. Just my little wish though :o

my suggestion is to get a titanium/SG2 JYD2 and dremel a choil into it. I'm working on one and will try to post a pic on Sunday. It's the bomb-diggety

Sure, know where I can get one? :D I don't think i'd be modifying a knife that only had a 1000-piece sprint run and is near-impossible to find.

i have the G&G clip on my ram, thankfully they live about 30 min from my house and i LOVE this clip.

also, i sanded the G10 down so it has a nice flat surface.

i would like a new button though since the standard one is a little tough to grab

I LOVE my RAM :D it's clipped to my pocket as I type but.. after reading this thread. Why in the world would you want to regrind the already thin blade on the RAM ?

As Much as I love my little guy , I would love it more if the tip was not so skinny , I cant imagine the blade being even thinner as my RAM is one hell of a slicer !

Gotta post pics of mine after I gently pimped it. Thinking on getting a clip as well.

My RAM gets a disproportionate amount of EDC time, and the G&G Grip Clip isn't helping (all the other knives are getting jealous). It does save wear and tear on pockets.

After reading this thread, I've got an urge for a new RAM...

Hey Phillip, what wood would ("wood would?") go well with the Red RAM?
