In search of damascus knife maker

Hello,

New to the forum. I'm looking for a reputable knife maker for a hand forged damascus steel hunting knife for my father in law. I have considered buying a knife from John Neeman at Neemantools.com but I'm unsure of what fair prices for some of these custom knives are. Really, I'm just trying to shop around to find something that fits what we are looking for. My budget is around $500.00. Ideally a damascus steel hunting knife 4-5 inch blade, custom made. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
 
Kyle Hanson, Karl Andersen & Bill Buxton come to mind for Damascus Hunters. There are many others also.
 
look in Exchange in either Makers selling fixed blades or in the Custom Individual section and there are often many knives available at quite affordable prices also. Often collectors have items that are no longer needed or what is desired as part of a collection and are also happy to provide new homes for nicely done knives. Also, keep in mind that handle material will generally affect the final purchase price.
