I sent @jblytte an email over a week ago to no avail. If you are here, please PM me- I am also in search of a reliable axe from someone I can trust. I have seen many on eBay- but that goes back to the "trust" part...

Thank you for that! I’m in need of a boys axe myself. I was honestly about to order something from them this evening, when I got home from work.

Would have been my first axe too. Would have been a shame to get started on that note.

And, I’m sorry about your experience. Hopefully you’re able to get reimbursed in some way.

I just want to reiterate that was my experience. Most here have had great luck with them, as far as I can tell.
