That's really what I'm after, the Sebenza of flashlights. I want something high quality, high capacity, small enough to carry, and hopefully elegant looking.

What suggestions have you??

McGizmo and Muyshondt are both well respected as "premium," similar to the Sebenza. I have never owned either as they are both out of my price but I've heard good things.

I vote McGizmo.
I have a Haiku configured for AA batteries, and a Sapphire, which takes AAA batteries. He makes lights for CR123 and 18650's, too.
His designs are awesome, if you aren't already familiar with them, and his prices are about the same as CRK for custom machined titanium lights.

I like Olight, 4 sevens and surefire. I have a bunch of lights, but these seem to be the best ones.

Surefire is top notch, but you are looking at $200 and up. For less than a c-note, you can get a really nice Olight

Surefire, McGizmo, and Malkoff were mentioned but I would add HDS and Lenslight. I've never owned a Lenslight, but they look like high quality Titanium, US made lights. They even do flame patterns like Strider does. McGizmo and Lenslight make the prettiest lights I've ever seen, but Surefire, Malkoff and HDS make great tools as well. I would start with what kind of batteries you want to use, and go from there. Surefire doesn't recommend rechargeable batteries in most of their lights, so if you want to use lithium rechargeables look elsewhere.

When I was shopping for a top shelf, attractive titanium light to go with my Sebenza, I was very close to trying a Lenslight but never ordered one because I would have had to sell several Surefires to cover the purchase.

+1 for HDS systems, I've been EDCing my titanium Ra Clicky since I got it years ago. Damn near indestructible, super reliable...the best 1x123 light ever IMHO.

Peasant taste here - Streamlight Scorpion HL for me...LED, bright, white - High, Strobe, Low..less than $65. They also make some good light/laser weapon combinations.

Best.

+1 for McGizmo, Malkoff, HDS, and I'll add Elzetta.
All of them are easy to carry and bomb proof.

Let us know what you decide.

If you want to burn a hole through a phone book and see for quite some distance look at the zebra light SC600, the HI version. SC600w mkiii HI is the model. Fantastic light.

Another vote for HDS.

McGizmo's are an excellent recommendation, though I will throw in another vote for Muyshondt! Enrique has a pre-order for his new light - Flieger Mk. I - available in Titanium and Aluminum Bronze. This will be his largest light to date both in size and output, from 1 to 900 lumens spread out over 5 modes, and first light to be geared toward lithium-ion use with an 18650. It will also run off of 2xCR123a primary batteries or 2x18350 batteries. Tint is said to be a warm white XP-L.

Check out photos and reviews to his current and previous releases to see if it is something you might like (Maus Mk I, Aeon Mk III, Mk II, Mk I, Mako Mk II and Mk I, Nautilus Mk II and Mk I, and Photons Int'l Ion). Best of luck in your search!

I guess if you want the Sebenza of lights I would suggest the light that's been in my pocket with a Sebenza for more the 4 years....look no farther then HDS. I can't tell if the light is the Sebenza of lights or the knife is the HDS of knives.

This is the best flashlight in my opinion Nitecore MH12. I usually look for EDC gear that balances performance and size and this is perfect.

1000 lumens
waterproof
usb rechargeable
excellent stock battery 18650
very durable. have dropped it many times
very neutral tone of light
has beacon mode, sos mode, strobe mode and then 4 adjustable lumens modes.
beacon is very good if your car or bike has stalled on the highway at night.

Another vote for HDS. Solid lifetime lights that will always work, just like a Sebenza.
