In search of the Sebenza of flashlights

I carry a fenix daily, because it is bright, efficient, great electrics and was relatively inexpensive. It's not the Sebenza of lights, but it's a great light at a good price.

That said - there are some great options above, but you might also look at a Sinner -

I have been drooling at these for a little while now - but I do not own one.....

I have to vote for HDS. I've tried a bunch of smaller, lighter, and brighter lights. I always end up with my HDS in pocket. Love the interface and electronic lockout feature of my previous generation EDC Clicky. They are seriously tough with steel bezel and great anodizing. Mine has met concrete a few times and barely shows any damage at all.

Just as a Delica slices as well or better than a Sebenza, so too the light coming out of a Fenix or Four Sevens is just as bright or brighter than you will get from a spendy, blingy, titanium light. So what you are paying for is not the lumens or the features, but the feel good. Nothing wrong with that, but should not confuse utility and feel good. From a purely utilitarian perspective, the blingy, spendy lights are not worth the cost. That's true with lights, knives and most things. But from a feel good perspective, its a subjective consideration and there is no objective right or wrong. My point here is just to know why you are buying a light, because that really greases the skids and makes the selection process easier.

I find myself on the utilitarian rather than the feel good end of the spectrum. So I EDC a $20 Streamlight Stylus Pro 2xAAA, and when I want some serious lumens I carry a Fenix PD35 or Pelican 7060. The older I get, the less I am willing to put up with bling, whether its a Sebenza or an HDS (both of which are fine products that I own). I'm more of a Delica and Streamlight person. But if you are into Sebenzas, then the HDS or similar may be what you are looking for. I think the Olight S1 Baton, and S1 Mini may also give you feel good vibes too.

If you want to burn a hole through a phone book and see for quite some distance look at the zebra light SC600, the HI version. SC600w mkiii HI is the model. Fantastic light.

I'll second the SC600HI.

I find that the small size and the power of an 18650 battery are just right for me. I use it all the time.

Another vote for McGizmo, the Haiku is an outstanding light.
The beam is flawless, it's full on custom made, the pocket clip is perfect, and the body is a beautiful piece of Titanium.
