I've been wondering if I needed to get an entry axe and then I thought, "Trevor's videos were cool, let me see what kind of results some testing of the Gladius on my own will yield." So, I went outside a little bit ago and chopped up a hood to a 93 chevy truck. The pics speak for the Gladius much better than I ever could as this thing is TOUGH. The pics are in the exact order they were taken between 6:09am and 6:17am Pacific time this morning.

ETA Part 2, the railroad tie has been added on posts 36-38

Before meeting INFI.

First stab was two handed.

The previous pic pulled forward to shear through.

No damage to blade, not even a dent on the edge.

Chopping on the rear edge of the hood where it is really thick, the sheetmetal bent instead of being cut.

This is where I sliced it by swinging the tip right into it.

A one handed stab.

Another one handed stab where I hit the reinforced bracing underneath.

Tip test, pulled it sideways from the previous pic.

Next to hole from previous pic. Again, no damage.

Spent a full minute just beating the hell out of the hood with the tip of the blade an chopping a hole in it. There was a section I didn't cut out still attached on both sided.

So I pried it until the sheetmetal popped. The blade flexed a lot and returned to true.

It takes all the strength a 230lb guy in his prime can generate with one arm while holding the camera in the other to flex it this much. Easily 150 lbs of leverage pulling on the handle.

I'm tired, but the Gladius is good to go with ZERO damage.

I definitely got way more than I paid for, don't need an entry axe and am happier for it!

and let that be a lesson to all car hoods around the world not to ever attack when a human has a Galdius :D

Man, that thing is impressive. And I've gotta say, I really like how it looks stripped. The finish is very "rustic" looking, like it came from a Roman soldier. Very cool!

Nice test

I can't believe you got a Gladius to bend!

Nice test

I can't believe you got a Gladius to bend!

Great flex:thumbup::D

It wasn't easy. I was standing on the hood to hold it down and pulling up to the point of muscle failure where my arm was shaking and that was all I could get with 20" of leverage. Now with someone to hold the camera I could use both arms and get a little more than double that which looks great until you realize something might give and let it pop you in the face. :p With what it does to sheetmetal, I'd rather not make skin to INFI contact. ;)
