In the Hospital

Thanks surgery went well now I just have sit here for a week. I have an epidural for a few days.

I have a aneurysmal bone cyst. My doctor who is an expert at this said this is the biggest he's seen.

A bone cyst? I'm hoping its not harmfull?

Uh yeah the cyst is pertty bad. But they scraped it out filled it with graft and put a plate
on it. So now just a week in the hospital then the 8 months so.
 
Get into therapy even before you can walk -- sit-ups, leg lifts -- or your leg muscles will atrophy in no time.
 
Hopefully you can dream about using you Hest knife.

Get well soon. One good thing - that HEST is waiting for you to take it back out to the woods when you recover.
 
Good time to whittle, find the best in your situation and eploit those devices. take it easy and you will be back out in the sticks in seemingly no time at all. Keep your mind right and the body will follow, concern and regard from out this way!
 
Glad your surgery went well. Let that graft set & heal properly before you try anything! Don't second guess your doc on that one. Then do all your PT when they let you, and work hard at it.

I had my shoulder rebuilt, and spent 8-9wks in an immobilizing sling, and another 4+wks in a regular sling before they even thought about letting me do rehab... It was...interesting...:eek: I sure don't envy you being on crutches for 8mo, but better that, than having the bone/graft fail under load...
 
Yeah very true. Hey sence you never asked for it I shipped it just now be expecting it any minute.

Just had my epidural taken out.
