In the midnight hour, she cried more more more...

Waht do you guys think of Jefferson? I don't have quite the seasoned pallate that I'm sure some of you do, but I had some of this at a buddy's house and I can't stop thinking about it. It was extremely smooth and drinkable.

I have an identical TB (Bama Clay + Tan Canvas Micarta), and it's my favorite one. Nice bourbon, too.

I would get every Busse in bama clay/tan canvas if I could - such a great looking combo. Still sulking that this was not an option for the BWM :D

I love Rye.

I dont think I have tried a ryed bourbon, or at least I didnt know I was drinking one if I was - how does the taste differ from, lets say, Knob Creek?

Sweet comments - you guys know way more about bourbon than me... I like knob creek a lot, but I just don't think it worth the price as its not even my favorite - Elijah Craig is half the price here in NYC and just as good if not a little smoother.

Like I mentioned before, my top favorite and most drunk is Elijah Craig 12 Year and Woodford Reserve is second in line - third is either Buffalo trace or Bulleit. I love bourbons that have a nice vanilla and almost cavendish tobacco aftertaste...

My least favorite bourbon I've ever had was Old Weller Antique... Its on permanent coffee duty - I know its wheated and dont know if it makes sense, but I also cant stand the wheated beers...?

So as far as the Rebel Yell.... keeping in mind it is $15, it wasnt too bad at all. I drink my bourbon neat so my biggest critique was that it tasted almost watered down - no joke after I took a first sip I shook the bottle bc I thought maybe it needs to be mixed! I like a bourbon that feels heavy and coats my my tongue (did I just say that?) - Rebel Yell felt watery. Almost like comparing regular coke to diet coke - it was missing the heaviness of the real sugar, if that makes sense. You could further see it just by comparing the legs on some of my other bourbons. OK enough about that.

With that said, the flavor was decent and it was not harsh at all - much easier to drink than Makers Mark or Wild Turkey.

Again, not bad for $15! With that said, I think it might go up on my shelf with my bottle of Old Weller for when I want a bourbon and coffee or coke :foot:

so SUCCESS!!!

Family Bourbon and Busse shot :D

Sazerac Rye is a great sippin' whiskey IMO - but I didn't know that the Wild Turkey folks made a rye - I'll have to look for it.
Also, there are a number of bourbons and ryes starting to come out of the Northern Virgina Blue Ridge (look out Kentucky!) I haven't had the chance to try them yet. Anyone out there have any experience with'em?
Cheers,
