I was really impressed with Phillip Patton's knives he posts in the makers section, especially his Drop Point Utility model. I ordered it back in March, and I had forgotten about it until he contacted me to let me know it was done :D I went with A2 steel and natural Micarta scales. This is the pic he sent me, can't wait to get it!

nice one there! now you can get real serious and put the Patton in your right hand, the NWA forum knife in your left, and get practiced up on your duel wielding!!!!

Wow! That is amazing! Looks like you can choke up on that blade really well. Congrats tknife and great work Phillip!

I need about a dozen more hands to wield them all :o (It's not a problem until I admit it :D)

Great looking blade, now I understand why you're selling your Bravo 1 !!!!:D

great looking blade T.... i like it...

i'm stoked, i have my NWA knife and a fiddleback bushcrafter, both en route as we speak...:D i'll get some pics up after i get them...

That is a great looking knife. How does it compare in size to the NWA blade. Any side by side shots?

I actually don't have it in hand yet, this is the pic that Phillip sent me. I should have it in a week or so. I think it is slightly bigger than the NWA. I will definitely post side by sides when I get it.

That is a beautiful knife tknife. How thick is it, and what kind if sheath does it come with?

Congrats!!!!:thumbup::cool:

I think it is 3/16ths with a tapered tang. I asked him not to make a sheath, I'm going to use a Survival Sheath with a pouch on it. A tan one to match the scales :)

NICE!!! Love that mikarta.

excellent knife and sounds like it is going to be a great set-up ,I have a green survival sheath for my NWA ...looks great, green micarta with the green sheath !!!

A2 is great steel! In the top 3 steels that I love!
1. INFI
2. A2
3. FFD2 (Let me run for cover, after posting that one.:D)

My all time favorite steels are A2 and O1, so it was a tough choice because he offers both ;) But I have several knives in O1 now, so needed another in A2. It's super tough, easy to sharpen and holds a great edge. That's all that matters to me in a steel.

You've got that right. The Bark Rivers I have owned took and held an edge forever.

I used a Dozier K2 a few times, and while I don't think A2 holds an edge quite as long as Bob's D2, but it's damn close.

Did you get it and more importantly, have you used it? What do you think and how did it hold up to the tasks at hand? I sent Phillip an e-mail today about this knife with some modifications. I am very curious about what you think of it...

Thanks

Max
