In Waistband (IWB) Folder Carry...

I carry an Endura IWB.

But in the last 4 years I've gone from 150lbs to 180lbs so the knife tends to be a lot more snug than what it used to be:o

IWB can be a little uncomfortable after large meals.

IWB, RH, betwee 4 and 5 oclock. Clip over the pants but under the belt. Easily hidden from most eyes when at the office and knives just aren't appreciated.

I used to carry IWB at about the 4 o'clock position.

First knife I used to carry this way was a SS spyderco. Somehow ended up falling out w/o my knowledge. Second knife was a mini BM Stryker. The G10 handle on that one ended up wearing a hole thru the pants where the handle was tucked below the waistband.

I don't carry my knives that way any more.

Inbetween my trousers and belt, clipped the the belt not the trousers, over my right hand side pocket.

For me clipping on my pocket is more difficult as I carry a pen clipped to that RHS pocket, and in my pocket, a folded piece of paper for writing, a Swiss Army Card, and a mini LED torch. Having the knife on the pocket makes it difficult to get into the pocket easily.

I typically carry two folders, one IWB and the other in my right front pocket. The IWB is just to the left of my center line, and in accessed with my right hand. The knife that is IWB is hard, if not impossible, to reach when seated. However, it is hardly noticable when worn with a belt, shirt untucked, or black clip on dark pants. Usually when traveling the IWB is the only knife i carry. It is true that a reasonable knife clipped to the pants is not typically a social no-no, but depending on the size of the blade, or even the blade type you could wind up with legal issues if a law enforcement official decides give you a hard time. Not something you are likely to encounter, but it is something to consider.

I definately wouldn't recomend the alternative IWB PC (Plumbers Crack) method:thumbdn: . this is where you stuff it down the back of your pants with the knife firmly wedged... Anyway, I think it's a "crappy" place to carry it.

I couldn't resist...

I rotate where I carry my knife depending on what I'm doing that day.

If I'm at work I carry at 3:00 IWB, but if I'm using it a lot I just keep it in my pocket. I also carry a SAK in my left front pocket.

If I'm out and carrying my Kel-Tech .380 in my pocket holster, my knife would be in the way of my gun if I needed it.

I've also scratched cars and equipment at work with a knife cliped to my pocket.

If I'm hunting/fishing/ doing yard work or anything where I may be using my knife alot, I just clip it to my pocket so that it's easy to get to when I need it.

So for me it just depends on what I'm doing.

Hi guys,
thanks for opening up whole new horizons
for toying with my toys
and rotating my EDC collection...
will work on my personal record of how many of them I can carry at once... that's twelve around the waist, then, if we allow one for each hour
one could try double belts, of course ;-)
best, t.
