Vice City lets you buy a khukuri. It actually looks a lot like the Benchmade/Pacific Cutlery models.

American ninja movie, (which had Brandon Lee playing the villain samurai). Movie wasn't that hot, poor choreography, etc. But there is one scene where these Saudis at a club pull out smallish khuks, look like BAS models or some such.

The scene I recall (from my distant youth) in "King of the Khyber Rifles," is a night attack on the Bad Guy's camp (Kerim Khan?). The Sepoys announce they will not use their Enfields due to possible use of pig grease on the cartridges. They then reassure their respected Captain King that they will still attack -- with their khukuris. (Something like, "We still have these.") Chop, chop!

pig grease....drool.

Although the Muslims have something against it, my religion is all about pig eatin!

Most religious and cultural prohibitions on food stem from there not being effective ways to cure or store certain meats. Since veggies and fruits and grains don't go bad per se, I think there few religions with restrictions on these.

Other religious food restrictions were imposed by invading religions on the native folks. For instance, the Frankish tribes ate horse ritually (to honor Sleipnir, Odin's 8-legged steed), and the Christians forbade the eating of horse because of this heathen practice. As you know, France has never been the same, but horse is sometimes still eaten there.

Oh, and there were some khuks in a movie in India, i bet (He sez, Trying to bring the thread back into line).

Ferrous?

It may be a mid-west thing...for Christmas, I was given 5 pounds of bacon by the two guys I used to ride with. Not the high-quality, low-fat stuff...this was boxes of bacon ends and scraps, filled with nitrates and blood-coagulators and evil smokey tastes.

Then, they waited until I cooked some for all of us.:)

They maintained it was "Quality control" on their part.
