Though I complained about Emerson's in my last post. If I was to have only one of his knives and needed more than a lagriffe and didn't want to spring for a CQC12 (both of which I really like), I think the mini commander is as good a choice as any in general. Decent blade, easier to conceal in the hand or pocket than the full size commander, cqc8 etc., and some of the others which really are a bit too big to be practical, easier to open if you don't intend to rely on the wave (for ex. the cqc7 thumb stud is hard to dig out), handle is quite comfortable and is also shaped to make a great blunt striking instrument.
