Incoming Tim Hancock AKI Hunter

Oooh... Very nice knives! I have a slight preference for the stag-handled one.

Kind regards,

Jos

Some of you have seen this knife in David Darom's book on Tim Hancock. "The Western Bladesmith".

Here is some information on the knife:
“Fancy Stag Hunter”, AKI 2007
The blade is Tim’s “Double U” pattern Damascus from a mix of 1080 and 15N20 steel.
It has a clipped point and a Spanish notch.
The handle fittings are Damascus as well, highlighted with nickel silver spacers.
The grooved and border-cut spacer joins the frame that is flanked by spacers
with Tim’s crowfoot file work. The scales are amber stag. The sheath is a
belt clip style with sharkskin overlay.
Overall length 9 1/4” (235 mm), blade length 4 3/4” (121 mm).

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

As good as it gets. When I see stag like that, I don't give ivory a second thought.

Man, Jon...your knives that don't bend keep getting better and better! Just a great hunter! Stag to die for, super damascus, top maker. Tim's hunters always make me smile. I know you are.

Jonathan That is a fine little knife I don't know why but amber stag is my favorite of all handle material and that is as nice as any I have seen.

Thanks for posting that Kevin. I know this has come up before but does anyone know how I can get a copy of the 07 catalog?

That amber stag is amazing. Congratulations on acquiring that wonderful knife!

I'll see if Phil has a spare....and sorry for being off by $200.00:o

Here is another image of the knife from Eric Eggly. Same image but he changed the background and added the spine view.

I am expecting this knife to arrive TODAY in about an hour.

Though I commented earlier on this hunter, I just feel compelled to do it again. It's about as perfect a hunter as one would want to own. I betcha this one will become a keeper for you, Jon. It's special.

Best,

Bob

Same here. Every time I look at this one it's the same awesome first impression.
