I was waiting for a prescription at my local Longs Drug store and wandered over to the sporting goods section. There was a time when I could find hunting rifles, ammunition and a surprising selection of knives, but those times are gone. I looked on a shelf tucked up against the camera section and found some plastic bagged bundles about knife sized. I looked and the bundles were Cold Steel Red River Elk Skinners priced at $5.99 each. These are back-swept semi-skinners with around a 5.25 inch blade. The blades are carbon steel. The handles are simple wood slab ala old Green River hunters.
The blade looks like it was made by Russell Harrington and is their "Sheep Skinner" style:

The one that I bought needed significant sharpening, but I really like this style. It even came with an old mountain man style leather sheath.
I was wondering whether these showed up in anyone else's Longs Drugs.
