Forumite Manoucher has asked me to post here regarding a kopesh he recently had made.

It is so unbelievably good that words literally can not describe it.

It is located on SFI's "Edged weapons of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East" forum.

I apologize for my inability to post pics, but trust me, this one is worth going there to take a look.

Before I saw it I never imagined that something like it could even exist.

Manoucher's kopesh

The link is now working and will take you to the start of the whole thread including Manoucher's history of the project.

Sometimes I swear that the only thing that makes my 'puter work most of the time is the Five flanged mace with leather cord wrapping over a fitted hickory handle. Long as things go right I keep it on the right side of my computer desk. When the computer begins to act like it's been possessed by an evil demon, I just take and move it to the left side of the desk and rest the handle against the tower. That usually solves the problem, if not I lean over and pick the mace up and fondle it, decribing in a soft voice just what I plan to do with it when the computer does drive me crazy. Worked every time so far. Haven't even had to shake it at the 'puter. So far.

I'll save yall the trip:

Good stuff, Man, that's what I think. Very few bladesmiths can even work bronze, it is almost a lost art. Most bronze swords out today are of cast bronze, not hammer hardened. I din't trust casts. Cooling rates and stress risers and inclusion, oh my!

Heck of a wall hanger. I can hardly believe that they could fit that huge block of text in the blade!

Yes, it is hammer hardened and as you rightly mentioned few bladesmiths can work bronze today. This sword is very sharp and functional and you can use it, at the same time a nice display.
