Incredible Mirabile X Mas Wakizashi :)

Joe- thanks for posting, sorry for the sub par iPhone pics.
Thanks to all that have taken time to post their thoughts.

I'm sure that when the new owner receives this, he will chime in
and give us his impressions.

Blades B4 Firearms- yes, I hear you. I would've liked to see more
sori... I could've pre set some sori and re quench. But frankly, since this
came out in one piece, I didn't want to push my luck.

Gary- this is a san mai constructed of W2 and steel that came from the Treadwell Mine.
I believe that it is A203E or similar.

Jos- the handle and scabbard are both made from Alaskan yellow cedar
... then covered with carbon fiber.

Thanks for the comments guys

David

Your humbleness is always refreshing

It seems like everything you make wins a Blade Award :)

It's my honor to call you friend ....... We have had a lot of laughs, huh bro :)

You are truly a battlefield blade smith with a wonderful eye for high art

I can not wait till you venture into Katanas

David made a display for his last Award Winner with an ancient walrus jawbone, split and rejoined with carbon-fiber wrapped Alaskan yellow cedar...bringing all of the artifacts and facets of the Wakashi together with the kake...

Ah- OK! This sure is a fine example of "traditional meets modern"!

Very nice.

Kind regards,

Jos

That is a thing of beauty!! Looks like I will need to talk someone about getting a custom katana made for me after seeing this.
