Ya`all have a good one.Incidently, a good varmint load for the .375 H&H is the Speer 235 gr. Backed by 88 grs. of IMR 4350 for a Vel. of 2900 fps.

20 some years ago the guy I gave the 15" AK to and I went to a gun show at the Reno convention center looking for 375s. Didn't find any, went to Peppermill and had breakfast. Had to drive back past gun show on way home. Both of us suddenly decided we needed to take one more look... and 20 minutes later he showed up at the car with a Ruger 77 in 458. So I showed him the Remington 700 Safari Grade 458 I'd just bought. He doesn't know yet that they make a 20" Ang Khola.

Have a good 4th too, Ghost, Uncle Bill, and the rest of the gang!

OK, boys and girls,a good time was had by all and no one will be known as lefty or three finger Jake.Beaucoupe food and beer and black powder. No uncontrolled fires. What did you do to celebrate The Declaration of Independence?

We had our fire here in Reno, ghostix. Out east of town a couple of crazies were setting off fireworks and started a brush fire. It burned more than 1,000 acres last I heard on the news and almost stopped traffic on I-80 due to smoke.

No fires here in Indy --I think it is too humid for anything to burn. Hot though, in the upper 90"s...

My poor dog is still experiencing Pat Traumatic Stress Disorder from the fireworks. Poor girl is afraid to go outside.

Hope everyone had a good holiday.

Sorry to hear about the dog, Clay. Their ears are too sensitive for all the loud noise, I guess. Can't blame them much, I don't care for loud noise myself.

And, thanks for well wishes.

Thats one mighty varmint you'd be taking out with that load G6. Rhino sized rats I'd presume!

Yes, well, my little girl (actually 53 lbs) is pretty skiddish. She scares alot of people with her size and deep bark, which is funny because 1) she is a wimp; and 2) she is a sweetheart without a mean bone in her body. Anyways, next year we may look into some sedatives for her for the holiday weekend.

Sorry to go on about my dog. My girlfriend says I am a doting father.

To bring it back to khukuris, both my dog and cat find the water buffalo sheaths and horn handles very interesting to sniff...

I wonder what is going on in the minds of the cats and dogs when they smell scabbard and horn. Water buffalo is a new scent to them I'd guess.
