• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

I realize that all stones smooth out as you use them but how is the edge off the India stone right out of the
box?

Most stones are like guns knives or cars and need a break-in period. Use it a few times and it should be good to go.

Coming off a new stone my edges were a little more coarse but still fine enough as I like a more coarse edge. DM

I always prefer to run any new stone over a sheet of fine 3M wet/dry paper, used wet, for five to ten "figure eight" patterns before using it. However, this is just something I do because the man who helped me learn to sharpen did it. I'm not positive that there is really any appreciable benefit to it.
