Indispensable...

Man, I feel for you! If I lost Sophia I would be crying my eyes out and would not be easy to get along with to say the least. Anytime I leave the house, she is on my belt. And I cop a feel occasionally to make sure that she's still there.
It was literally on me the entire time. I just remember taking it off before going to bed and a day later, it's missing and I can't remember where I set out down. We are camping so it's possible it fell on the ground and I didn't notice. We packed up super early in the dark so I didn't get a great look at the site either. I stupidly/tiredly forgot to do my standard "site check" before leaving either.

Part of me is still hoping it fell into a crack somewhere in the car and that I'll find out again when we're home. I thankfully still have my fk2 and HDFK with me so I'm not without a tool for the rest of the trip but I'll be much more careful with these two.

Contact the site campground manager (I'm assuming campground). See if they have it in lost and found. Maybe, maaayyybeee, some kind soul did the honest thing or the manager found it and put it in L&F?

I feel for you. I did be devastated if I lost my HDFK. There is always this struggle. I wanna bring my fav and best gear out in the wild but yet I am afraid I might lost it.

I hope you can get it back.

CRISIS AVERTED: I FOUND MY DEK1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It somehow found it's way into a little-used pocket in my tent. What's crazy was I did not feel it at all when packing up the tent or setting it up. I randomly reached into the pocket and located it 3 days later.

That’s fantastic!
Sounds like when I tell myself, “ I’ll put this here so I don’t lose it.” And then can’t find it later.

"What's it got in its pocketses?"...

..."My Precious!!!"

Congratulations on finding your blade.
I had this happen with my hand held thermal camera that I use for hunting/tracking 2 seasons ago.
I put it where I always do but when I went to get it I found that it had walked away. I checked the truck, every crevice, crack, gap, and seam more times than I can remember. I checked my bags, clothes, pockets, cases, etc. The thing was missing for several weeks until after grocery shopping one day, when I was unloading the floor of the truck, I found it just laying on the middle of the floor like it had been there the entire time.
I said my thank you to the big guy but still can’t figure out where it was in the truck that I couldn’t find it.

Clearly, it saw you coming and hid. 😂
