You might try backing the pivot screw off a tad and a drop of 3n1. I believe it takes a T-8 torx.
 
Well, I've oiled it but not that way, and I've backed out the pivot but that uncentered the blade like the problem Vantages had. I'll try oiling it with the pivot backed out. Thanks PR.

If you mean the blade is not centered when closed, Mine isn't either, but I don't consider it a problem. My blade even has a very slight side play, but again, hasn't been a problem. Locks up and functions fine.

You may have to pull the clip and see if you need a backup torx on the back side. Pivot pin could just be spinning and not adjusting.

Go back with blue locktite on the clip screws.

Or, just play with it. Should loosen up. All four of mine open easy enough.

However,,,,the shorter 174's are a tad harder to deploy than the longer 179.
Probably a leverage thing. But once I got used to them, no prob.

I was bottom feeding and got one for under 10.00 with shipping..I like it and it matches my truck!
