fwiw here's what I want:

rivets on both sides - and lots of them so I can do neck carry, Mercharness-style carry, or clip things to the rivets

webbing loops - not stiff kydex or teklok belt loops - and i'd like them removable since sometimes i prefer to pocket a sheath knife and I want as slim a profile as possible

a removable firesteel loop along with a way to secure the striker/scraper (in fact i'd like two firesteel loops - one for a magnesium rod http://firesteel.com/products/FireSteel-Armageddon-with-Scraper-Lanyard-and-Magnesium.html# )

and perhaps most important is not having to ship the knife back and forth

and can you incorporate a whistle into the sheath too? that way i don't have to ranger-band a fox 40 to it ;)

Check.

Do you have an image of one of these, or what are you imagining?

What if it was one attachment that did all of the above? What if it held a fire steel, magnesium rod, and striker?

Have you done business with that company?

Does it have to be that striker, or would the Going Gear Super Striker work? http://goinggear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=350

What knife are you wanting sheathed up?

Does it matter which whistle it is?

Does it have to be a Fox 40?

Or can it be one of these, which I really prefer.... http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___84603

kind of like what kiahs does - webbing loops that are adjustable to fit different sized belts. and it'd be nice if they're removable.

that's exactly what I'm thinking - although my first thought was a loop on each edge of the sheath and something to hold the striker on the flat of the sheath

Have you done business with that company?

yeah, i have a couple of Armageddon firesteel sets to pass along to my sons when they're old enough - so that's my interest, to provide them with a complete sheath system for carrying fire and knife

Does it have to be that striker, or would the Going Gear Super Striker work? http://goinggear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=350

doesn't have to be that one - but that's the one I currently have, not the Super Striker

What knife are you wanting sheathed up?

well, possibly the Mora Miki depending on price :)

hehe - that's was a lame attempt at a joke - i meant to suggest crafting the kydex sheath itself into a functioning whistle

that whistle is cool though - haven't seen it before, i like the slim profile and the clip

Not to hone in, but just to address this. My dual loops have been improved since the last pic I posted. Post holes are now adjustable in 1/2" increments to customize to the application more as opposed to predefined spacing for belt carry. This means high ride, low ride, IWB, inverted, MOLLE, pack, whatever carry in one.

I can build one of those, or source them from our friend.

Now, this is a thing for me.... If you have a honking firesteel on one side, and a chunk of magnesium on the other, that is pretty darn heavy.

Would you want to have the FireSteel/Mag/Striker combo on, with a belt attachment, at the same time?

I could make one up for that system, though it looks heavy.

I would want a FireSteel Mini and a Super Striker, and I don't care for magnesium.

And , with the one I am set to build, they will be in a little sheath of their own, that bolts on to the main sheath.

well, possibly the Mora Miki depending on price :)

Can't talk prices here, with respect, but it will be affordable. Email me.

Well, my sheath will not blow. But, I could work a clever whistle attachment into the mix. I could add a lanyard end for the knife or the striker set, that would be a whistle.

Good Stuff.

Don't mind at all brother.

Have you seen this guy over in Ireland that is making the while kit of accessories and a sheath?

Pretty brilliant, the most brilliant part being that is so accessible, makes it easy for a guy to see how he could use it.

I bought the Rapidboy Clipper Carry System and love the versatility and retention, its fantastic.

I can have a Rapidboy sheath made to fit any knife, which then attaches to the Carry System, giving me a complete, modular system for each knife I want to carry, and significantly reducing the costs to equip each knife.
