Inexpensive folders with premium steel blades?

where are you guys finding 'inexpensive' Gayle Bradley folders?

Yeah that's what I was wondering. They were $120 now more like $140.

Speaking only for myself, the GB is way overpriced for an import that's not even stainless.

LMAO. What's 'import' have to do with it.
Some people still prefer to buy American whenever possible. Apparently you are not one of them. But I think you already knew exactly what I meant. So go ahead and argue how Taiwanese manufacture is just as good as American. I don't care.

And what's 'not stainless' have to do with it?
Most super steels are stainless. Again you know exactly what I meant but instead of just letting me post my opinion then posting your own separate opinion, you chose to argue in a negative way. Happy now?

"Super" is a matter of performance to most folks. CPM M4 holds an edge like few other alloys, stainless or non-stainless.

But, I agree that the Gayle Bradley is not in the price range that most folks would call "inexpensive".

I don't hate Spyderco, Gayle Bradley, M4, Taiwan, $140 knives, nor do I hate Philwar. I'll try to extract the wadded panties before I go all Fukushima. I can feel the disappointment of several pirates.

Maybe some Americans do. I'm not American (sad to say). For me, they're all imports. :D

That wasn't my point at all (although I have yet to see ANY massproduced knife beat the GB on quality and F&F). I was just wondering why a Taiwanese-made knife couldn't be expensive.

Me negative? I only asked questions. You are negative by dismissing a fantastically-made knife with just about unsurpassed steel because it's not made in America.
THAT is negative to me.
Now I'm happy. ;)

Did a search and found a good knife for you, (and me...lol)...I will be getting one soon!
Buck Ergohunter Green Folding Knife. S30V, great ergos, cool factor...

Looks awesome...

I haven't seen anything official from Spyderco on this, so this is pure speculation, but I would think that they will continue an FRN version of the Native after release of the 5 as it tends to serve a different market. The FRN Native is a real value.

Spyderco Dragonfly 2 in ZDP-189

Can be had for around $65 give or take. I'm not sure if that qualifies as inexpensive, but the Dragonfly 2 line is wonderful. One of my favorite small folder designs.

I don't consider any knife over about $35 to be inexpensive. And when you get up into Gayle Bradley territory - no way. A GB arguably is a value, but is sure isn't inexpensive.

I am really liking M390. I am hoping it will become popular enough to be used in inexpensive knife soon.

Hi RA. No one said you hated any of the above. And I understand "Speaking only for myself." We all going to have opinions, and they may not be the same. As said before, "that's what make's the world go 'round.":)

Don't hold your breath on that one. The costs of importing, heat treating, and grinding will keep it on the premium shelf for years to come.

you just reminded me

Gerber EZ out in s30v for $35

The EZ Out uses 440 series stainless, more than likely 440A. Just like the bulk of the knives made in China.

The Spyderco Delica (VG-10) is a medium priced folder but very good. I have several Enduras and finally bought a Delica. I like it!
