I'm looking for a folding knife that includes a plain blade, a glass breaker and a rescue hook or a feature that functions as a rescue hook.

I'm looking at a small budget (30 to 50 dollars) because i only have a part time job, and obviously don't make much money.

I've looked at the SOG bi-polar, but it's a bit expensive and is also discontinued. I've also looked at the benchmade houdini, but it seems cheap and flimsy, as well as a bit too bulky.

I'm looking for a pocket-able(thin, small, clip carry) knife/tool, because I fear that if I were to buy a hook and glass breaker separately that are carried in sheaths, I'd be caught without my edc bag that they would be attached to(unlikely, but still possible) and be unprepared. I would want something solid, sturdy reliable and durable, that I can carry on an every second basis.

I want to find something like this because who knows when someone is going to need rescue or assistance. I feel that if I see something happen that it's my obligation to help someone in need, because I could be the difference between someone's life and death. I really like to feel I'm prepared for everything.

anyone have any recommendations, opinions, or input as to what tool or knife I should get?

The only one that i can think of is the benchmade triage but it's a bit more green than you can spend. It's a pretty rad knife though...

definitely an awesome knife, but yes, very expensive. funny that I didn't think to mention that I had looked at those as well, considering that there are ads all over bladeforums for them.(no, I haven't bought a membership yet, bite me)

Here you go mate!

I hope 13$ or so doesn't break the bank:D

WOW! Great find! I like the plain edge one. The bottle/can opener is a real plus :D I honestly never thought sanrenmu made a "rescue" style knife, aside from the 939's blunt tip, great job! I'll have to pick one of those up.
Anyone else can still chime in, it's quite enlightening to see all these neat tools and gadgets.

Buck bravo rescue can be had under $60. Has a glass break and seatbelt cutter, but no pocket clip so it has to be in a belt sheath. 154 CM steel, chisel grind, tanto tip.

It's actually a very good knife. I have a T01A (half-serrated version) and I keep it in the centre console of my car. I liked the tools better than the T21. The T01 also has proper liner locks for the folding back implements.

The problem is that the non-serrated version of the T01 is now discontinued and long off the market - you can generally only find the half-serrated version.

How about a Victorinox Rescue? It has:

Features:
Large Lock Blade
Phillips-Screwdriver
Window Breaker
Strong Screwdriver/Crate Opener with:
Wire Stripper
Reamer, Punch
Seatbelt Cutter
Key Ring
Tweezers
Toothpick
Disc Saw for Shatterproof Glass
Luminescent Handles
Nylon Lanyard Cord
Nylon Pouch

I see it's around $70 on most knife sites, but if you look on a popular auction site there are many that are close to your $50 limit.

How about a Benchmade Rescue Hook 7. It fits everything you need.

i actually had one of those, it doesnt have a carbide tip. it was nice, but awkward to hold on to with my big hands. i might even look at just a rescue hook with a glass breaker and a sheath. suggestions?

just not a huge fan of SAK's, too hard for me to carry.

Spyderco Assist comes to mind. No rescue hook though.

i did actually have a ukpk rescue in orange G10. it was nice, but i found it got left at home alot, because it was supposed to be my main blade, but couldn't really use it for everyday cutting tasks. the assist looks nice, but a little pricey.

personally, I'm just not a huge fan of buck knives and I'm not entirely sure why.

I second the Vic Rescue. You can get it delivered from the 'zon for just under $40. That knife will serve & outlast all the other gadget knives in the same price range. I keep one in my cars for general use and emergencies.

Doesn't have a belt clip? Add a lanyard and hang that out your pocket.

the reason i don't like to carry things loose in my pocket is because most of my pants have very shallow pockets, and stuff likes to fall out of them. i actually lost a leatherman skeletool in a parking lot because of my pockets. and belt sheaths tend to get in my way and hurt my sides when i wear them.

For emergencies I carry HK Ally. It has the glass breaker. No rescue hook. But you can cut seatbelts with straight blade as effectively as with a hook IMHO. You can get one for $25-30.

Heres one, but you would have to get a stand alone hook. Ive heard the glass breaker tip and pocket clip looks close to a pen in your pocket

i think this one is gonna fit my needs, i'll probably pick up a benchmade 15 hook to go with it.
