Inexpensive Loaner knives

In the sheeple world, everyone knows I carry a pocket knife. I get asked constantly but refuse to lend it. My answer is "NO, buy one and carry it" Some have done so, the others continue to use a pen to open boxes and search for scissors to cut strapping tape.

If I am camping, I always have a frost slipjoint with me, which I GIVE to someone if they didn't bring a knife. (Actually, I make them give me a coin in return to carry on tradition)

If you give a man a fish, he eats for a day, if you teach him to fish.....

I don't believe in the "if they don't have their own then they aren't qualified to touch mine" bs.

I don't loan battery chargers, rappelling ropes, or my pickup truck anymore either. All those folks proved they didn't know what they were doing precisely because they hadn't used one enough to learn how. Ownership of a tool indicates some experience, and a desire to learn how it operates.

Non-ownership just indicates they don't respect the tool or the process. How many times has it been shown in this thread alone that people who borrow a knife are ignorant of it's use?

Don't loan my firearms either, or my wife, or my jeep. They can get their own.

I keep plastic handled Mora's around. Cant stand them myself, they feel gimmicky and cheap. In other words they are great loaner knives for my friends.
