INFI collectors chest - Where's your INFI?

C'mon people...this is ridiculous. Free up some of that precious INFI...maybe donate to a local teacher. Everyone should have some nice INFI... And you, Clae, you can affored to give up a BATAC or two. Or maybe just a warden...

This guy holds onto mine. Keeps it with his pot 'o gold!:p

I think I'll just watch, since I've been drinking kool-aid way too often since last July :-0

Well right now in a safe, all of my "safe queens" are in shoe box's, because I am waiting for custom rugs to come in. And my users are in a chest.

I looked for some variety of furniture type chest for a LONG time and finally discovered that Craftsmen type tool chests work very well if you get the right sized drawers.

I LOVE the full extension ball bearing drawers.

I use Intermediate chests because they can be locked and don't have a top lid. Some might like a top lid, but I put mine under a credenza that fit perfectly.

2" - 3" drawers work best. I can even stand up the little knives in little wood spacer racks like shown in the following picture:

Small knives will stand up in the 2" drawers.

Medium knives or knives with a double guard usually require a 3" drawer for standing up.

My Battle Rat sized blades just barely fit front to back.

Anything longer like a FFBM or DogFather needs to go side to side in the drawers I have.

My cabinet size is 26" wide. The drawers are about 22.25" wide x 14.25".

They have worked well for me.

Originally, I had considered putting a wood veneer on the front (I could do side and top if I needed), but I have decided it works fine for me as it is for now.

My INFI, like almost all my knives, is stuffed in random drawers. Usually they're lying there on their side, so it's easier to see what's in the drawer when you open it. Typically there's no padding, except perhaps some random saran wrap or something so some of the more oily knives don't mess up the drawers. Absolutely nothing fancy, but then, fixed blades hardly need a hotel for storage. ;)

... So my lil' herd stays in my Murse, that way there's no separation anxiety when I'm at work;
they just hang out on the office door:

Ahh - simple but great idea on the wood spacer. Why didn't i think of that:confused:
I hope to someday have a collection that requires me to go out and buy dedicated furniture to store them all . I wanted to store mine on the wall in the family room but my wife's tastes differ a bit :D. Relegated to the gun safe for now.

Sometimes on a table :o
