Any info on the finish on the INFI of the knife in Group A all the way to the right?

Not really into G Rex scales so I'm just wondering why is there a $100 price difference between Group A and B.To me Group A 1 from the left looks comparable to Group B1 or B3 ,are the materials more expensive or is the finish different. I'm torn as I would love to pick my own scales from what's available so I'd either get what I want or not.Never bothered with grab bags because of this, but I do love infidu's. First world problems ;)

Group A1, A2 and I think even A4 are mammoth (tusk for A1 and A4 and molar for A2 -- I think). B1 is some sort of micarta it looks like. So I'm thinking it's that the A materials are more expensive. With that said I'm not sure why A3 is more expensive, maybe some sort of special wood.

If you haven't done a grab bag before you should give it a try - a lot of the fun is in the anticipation and seeing what other members get!

Look at the price of the FHFG infi RMD with "lightning strike" micarta in comparison to plain micarta (with same blade finish). I'm not sure what A4 is (other than g-rexed, which is a custom shop/crab shack feature that increases the price), but it looks like it suffered a lightning strike in addition to the hammered looking finish (both of which increased the price some more, hence Group A). A1 & A2 are mammoth, which is $$$. A3 is wood, arguably more desirable than that shown on B4...but it also suffered a lightning strike, bumping the price.

The mocha swirl/melting sundae (B1) almost has me dissuaded...but that logo is trying to pull me back.
For those asking about specs, I'd anticipate comparable to the FHFG Infi Ratmandu that was released not too long ago. Of course, I don't claim to be very bright; and I certainly don't speak for the company.

. . . oh, I strongly disagree, Sir. That is lovely. Just beautiful. Does anyone know what the heck that material is? (First blade from left Group B)?

And that lightning strike Micarta next one over is fantastic.

That, sir, is why the old adage exists - beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Maybe I would like it better in person... (no, I wouldn't, lol; but at least I know who to reach out to if it shows up here)

well i scored,one from group b.i'm happy
I paid a little while ago (group B, also) - now the anxiety starts, lol. (Mostly kidding - I'm a huge fan of the RMD platform, and knowing it's a knife I like takes away most of the stress I would associate with a grab bag.)
Thinking happy thoughts about the handles, and being realistic - I don't really need two more RMDs (yes, I DO!!); so as long as I get one handle I like, I'm good. (NO! If I'm not thrilled with one; I'm going to try to trade it for one I like better)

(I really only went in because I like the new custom shop logo; so the handles don't matter all that much)

Indeed! As I always have said, if we all were attracted to the same thing, the competition for the one mate on the planet would be positively brutal.
