Is a folder on the radar-screen for Busse Knives? I just saw Swamp Rat's and got to 'tinking....
{That will no doubt will be a stretch though.}

Short answer: Two weeks!

Long answer: Jerry holds a patent on a folder design registered in 2004. I think the last time he mentioned it was before then.

Gonna be a while yet! ;)

If you look closely at your radar screen, you'll see the Folder. Sasquatch is holding it as he rides the unicorn to Atlantis, where they live under an intelligent, honest government.

There is at least one prototype that is in the hands of a forum member... it is however under a non-photo pact, so you probably won't be seeing it until jerry either lifts the photo ban or one comes into production.

I've only read/heard about it via the forum, so I have no idea what it feels like in the hand. the design is under patent though, so if its ever going to be in production, its closer then it has been before.

give it a few more years :)

I thought there was one home made folder floating around as well. I don't remember what the donor Busse was though.

You just now saw the Swamp Rat folder?
Welcome to 2004.

The Busse folder is not going to be anything like the swamp rat..
My opinion is that the Busse folder will take some design tips from the Strider folders. Those designs are some of the best on the market..

it's already made/designed, so I don't think it will be "taking" tips from anyone at this point.

To avoid stirring any congealed pots - I'm going to end any personal commentary on my part there.

thus far, I'll take the axis lock over any other makers folder design on the market, hands down. (lock wise at least)

There IS a custom folder out there with an INFI Badger blade... Matt Cucchiara made it. It's freakin' sweet... Right, westllen??!! :D:thumbup::thumbup:

Enterprising souls have found a way to make them without waiting for Jerry:

I'm not sure who owns it now. It was made by Matt Cucchiara, using a the blade from one of the ABAs (not sure which flavor). Titanium framelock, for those who care.

Rick - edited to add: Jaxx beat me to it

HMMM.. Thanks for supplying a diagram of the future folder..
I'm still leaning toward the full frame lock, it seem to be a more solid design. I have no doubts that the Busse folder will be simply amazing just like the rest of their blades. Does anyone know what the advantages and disadvantages of full frame lock and axis lock folders??
