Hi Gang. I have used many knife steels over the years but, overall, nothing compares to a Busse knife with INFI steel.
I simply have no interest in another knife. I have my fixed blade for life. Actually, 2 Busse knives. Thanks, Alex and Jody.
Can anyone relate?

2 Busse knives? Cant relate to that...;)

I can relate up to a point - I always EDC a Busse (a Game Warden, SAR-3, or an Active Duty in that order) with a SAK (Vic Forester, Vic Hunter XS, Vic Huntsman, or Vic Farmer in that order). I add my Busse SAR-4 or my SAR-8 as needed for woodsy stuff.

That being said, I still find a use for a good old-fashioned well-made O-1 steel and wooden handled knife now and then (my Fiddleback Forge Arete/Bushfinger or a JK Kephart)

Thanks, w. t.
I also love A2 and some of the SS.
I wish Jerry would bring the Busse Folder so I could stop buying folders.

Agreed with w.t. There is no end all knife or steel. That is what makes knife collecting so interesting.

I still regularly use and carry knives made with the magical 1095, why? Because. :p

Key word here is, Overall, re: INFI.
INFI is one of those things that sound too good to be true but is not.

I tried to stop at two. Twelve Busse's past. Good luck, Sir!

For me, INFI is overkill. I've got one INFI knife just so I can ogle at it. But for real world use, I'm perfectly happy with the performance of SR101. If the SHTF, I won't consider myself at a disadvantage with any of my Swamp Rat knives. :)

I`m allways carrying Infi (or SR-101), combined with a SAK Pioneer and maybe a bigger Busse, too. Knives like the Cultie, Wardens, AD`s, Muskrats, Skelly Keys or the SR Rodent Solution, are my fav. EDC`s, easy to carry on a belt sheath, or in a pocket sheath.

Thanks guys and thanks for the pix, ragnerok.
Remember the steel Jerry stared out with? Man, Hartsfield could work that steel.

Until Busse makes a folder....there will always be others

That being said, there's a lot of good designs out there and a lot of stand up makers so there will always be others because of that too.

Like firearms, I don't have a use for most of them, but there's some companies that I just like to support because of who or what they've done, or because they've always been nice to BS with in person

Hey Lycosa...You still jonesin' for some chisel ground INFI???

Here's something I came up with for the B8 Thread just for you...

(Chisel Bait)

I'm an INFI believer, but also like Busse SR101 for smaller knives.

My knife experience isn't that impressive compared to many here, but does go back to the mid-1980's. I've owned a lot of "production" knives in the past 30 years, and haven't found anything I have more "faith in" than INFI.

I also carry a combination of knives as well. There is always one INFI mixed in the lot. Today's selections are....

TGLB and Victorinox One-Hand-Trekker in my commuter bag, and an Endura4 FFG clipped in my pocket. The large fixed blade gets rotated almost daily, and my Endura is often replaced with a Swamp Warden.

There is always INFI within reach though!

What M67 said.

Yes, lots of good knives out there but holding at two Busse knives has halted my divorce.
One main reason I love the INFI is that it won't chip out. That's fantastic steel!
btw, Amy-O told me in person that there WILL be a Busse folder. I believe that nice woman.
Oh, Stump- Thanks for more salt in the wound. :D

Hey... Speaking of the Amazing Amy-O... has anyone heard from her lately? Maybe we should start a chant thread until she replies back!!! Hope she is doing well.
