I don't know much about INFI but would you think a sword made of it is more durable than a traditonal properly forged Japanese katana?
Yes. INFI is not differentially tempered, so the edge is as hard as the spine without introducing loss of lateral strength or problems with fractures.
In layman's terms, the edge will dent, not chip, and as the blade does not require different heat treatments or layering it is far more cost effective than a traditionally built shoto or ken while still providing the same level of cutting efficiency (assuming your INFI sword has a full convex grind with a polished edge).
I still prefer traditional Japanese weaponry for their design, but INFI has no equal, period.
