There are some steels out there which I would like to hear Jerry's opinion on but NiTinOL is'nt one of them. Best used in Spec frames.....
There are some super steels in Japan which are interesting but probably are not economic to import and therefore for Jerry to experiment with....also they are not cross sectionally consistant....but rather blended and laminated....and perhaps this involves a different set of applications to Infi....but Cowry X and R2 damascus steels are interesting in the smaller sized knives for their cutting and edge retention ability.
However....at the end of the day....Infi earns it's spurs both in large and small blade performance and the above steels are not suited for chopping sized blades. They are very good performers though on cutting and butchering tasks and it would be interesting to hear from Jerry as to whether he has come across them.
