I have a little extra pocket cash and am debating how to spend it. I could apply it towards my next INFI purchase or I could buy a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve 23 Year.

I've tasted INFI but not the bourbon.

What do you guys think?

Also, if you have knowledge in this area, what is a current fair market price for a bottle of the PVW23?

Thanks in advance.

having tried both- I vote infi.

Also decided that I prefer Bookers bourbon (small batch made by Jim Beam- individually proofed by barrel) over Pappy. And it's cheaper.
of course it all depends upon your taste...and how much $$ is in your wallet.

Depending upon how much INFI you've already got is how I would Acess your situation. But myself I've never drank Pappy's. Good luck on your decision. ;)

I'd expect to pay about $220 for a fifth of the Van Winkle. Personally, I'd pass on the whiskey and save up another $130 and get a bottle of 1922 D'Oliveira Bual Madeira.

INFI. Although the PVW 20 year is a bit more affordably priced....

I guess it depends on how much of a whiskey nut you are. I am mostly a scotch drinker, so I decided to jump in on the 20 year to see what the "good" stuff tastes like. I hope to sample some of the 12 and 15 sometime soon, so I can compare and see whether the 20 seems worth the money to me.

To me, the 23 wasn't worth the extra coin. But if you have a taste for fine bourbon, you might think differently....

Go INFI - lasts longer.

I agree with Demonic1, Booker's is better. Haven't tried 23yr Pappy, but did buy 20yr Pappy a few months ago & it just didn't live up to what I was expecting. I want some body & flavor in my bourbon & it just wasn't there.

From my Pappy shopping 20yr ran around $110 & 23yr around $220.

Here's some comforting news that should help you to make the right decision. . .

No matter which one you choose to spend your money on. . . whether it be the INFI or the PVW 23 . . . You can rest assured that a bottle of PVW 23 will be purchased with it!!!!

Choose wisely my friend. . .

Jerry :D

see there, got your answer, if it was me i would buy infi and a bottle of four roses, see you get both and jerry get his pvw 23, can't beat that with a big stick!!!

I'll vote for Infi.... My booze habit has taken a turn for the worse. Seems I've grown fond of making shine in the bath tub to save the funds for my growing INFI addiction.

INFI will last you forever while the booze will be flushed down the toilet in a few hours. ;)

This must be a trick question...

Because although you can buy INFI, you can only rent PVW...or any booze for that matter. And talk about a short term lease! ;)

Ankerson is on the tip!
