unless you're a super big Bourbon nut, buy the INFI.

frankly, I (and hordes of others) find the Pappy 15 and 12 to be more interesting and delicious anyway, irrespective of price. I stock the 20, and have tasted the 23, and strongly prefer the 15 (with the 12 being a close runner up). even further, I'd rather have the 13 year Rye over all of em.

edited to add: and you'll be hard pressed to find a bigger Van Winkle evangelist than me... I think they make the best bourbon, and whiskey for that matter, on earth, but, again, I think the 12 and 15 year expressions are where it's at - and that doesn't have a thing to do with cost... I could buy the 23 and more 20 if I wanted it.

I agree, the only way I am spending that much cash on alcohol is if I am using it to ply a beautiful set of twins, who only drink (enter expensive drink here).

Even then.........

According to the boss, the big winner will be PVW. PVW wins no matter what the decision.


I'm a single malt guy myself but appreciate any good liquor. Thanks for the other bourbon recommendations y'all have put out there. I've been thinking of giving the PVW 23 a try given the legendary and mythical aura it has 'round these parts. That, plus I noticed that there's a bottle at one of the liquor stores I frequent going for $180. Perhaps I can send in a bottle of PVW 23 in exchange for $220 in store credit?


Poll results at this time overwhelmingly favor INFI by 85%.

Still waiting to see if more folks will chime in. Although my decision has not been made, hopefully I won't be feeling too dry when the time comes!;):thumbup:
 
I'd buy the the INFI and leave the whiskey to the Boss man, it seems to keep him running at optimal levels leaving us with some sweet INFI goodness.:thumbup:

Infi all the way. The contents of the bottle will simply find its way back into the earth....where as the infi will move earth.
 
I voted for the Pappy. My reasoning: If you get the pappy and have a few glasses of it, you might decide that you want the INFI bad enough to make a bad(read good) decision and you will end up with both. Liquor frees the mind from the prison of sober judgment. Nutshell response: BOTH!

I used to think I needed booze to buy INFI. But then I realized that its like those commercials for quitting smoking. "You don't drive a car every time you smoke, so why do you smoke every time you drive a car?"

Well, I buy INFI every time I drink, but I don't drink every time I buy INFI. This is how I realized that INFI was the addiction, not the booze. That was a relief.

For those worried about my personal health, don't worry, I did not give up INFI or liquor after this enlightenment.

Shame on you. I love mine, and would not mind another unmodded one in satin! So there (just not more than I want about 10 other designs though).:D
 
I voted infi.

Simple reason is that a bottle of Elijah Craig 12 Year ALWAYS does the trick and leaves me VERY satisfied (and drunk) :D

Seriously love that stuff!
