Inflation within the knife market

In my opinion you are torturing the data until it confesses. While it may not be technically incorrect to say that if inflation goes up .5% (one half of one percent) and knives went up 1.5% in the same timeframe, that knives increased at a rate 300% greater than the inflation rate, it certainly seems misleading to call it a 300% increase!

I rembering hearing you could get in 2008 Griptilians for $80 - $90 USD. Now they are approximately $110 - $120. Matching USD inflation the Benchmade Griptilians 2016 price would be - $88.48 - $99.54. The actual increase is price is around 135.3% larger than in 2008 meaning the increase in price compared to USD inflation is 3.3x larger or an increase of 333%.
