I am looking for info on this Case fixed blade, what it was used for and a better idea on the age. The blade is 31/4 in long and the handle is about 3 in. There is no pattern number or any thing on the other side of the blade. Thank you for looking and any help you can give.

Not certain of this, but:

Case had a pattern called a '523-3 1/4', which featured an upswept skinner-type blade like that one (same size also), and the aluminum 'knight's head' pommel like yours. See the knife at 3rd from right in the photo below. All of the searches I've done so far, only show these in stag handles. I have a guidebook to knives, which mentions a leather-handled version produced in the years 1959-1965. Don't have any pics of this one (yet).

As for the use of the knife, it's basically a hunter/skinner type for small game.
