Hi guys, just joined this 'club' so I don't have much 'lurk' time in, but the reason I came here is seeking knowledge.

This past weekend I picked up a Normark filet knife at a local flea market. I am looking for general information on this knife, I suspect that it's not a collectors edition or anything like that but it would be nice to get some background on it. The blade is stainless steel and indicates that it's made by Fiskars. The handle is made of black plastic material with a brass bolster and buttpiece. You can see on the bolster the numbers 74 imprinted on the face. The handle has Normark ingraved/impressed into it. On the butt you can see what appears to be a stainless steel rod in the center of it, I'm assuming that this is the tang and would indicate that it extends all the way through the handle.

What is this? In case you're wondering this is a $8 knife to me, purely a tackle box tool. Oh, and the guy had it in a leather sheath that has an aluminum guard inserted to prevent the backside of the tip from cutting up the inside of the sheath. Probably not an original sheath, but it is functional. The edge was crap but I was able to get a decent edge on it, at least sharp enough for our local fish.
