i would like to get some info on the socfk. as in how much do they cost, how rare are they. when were they made and how did they come about? does anyone have one they would like to trade-off? jack :D

Jack:

The SOCFK is an exclusive collaboration with Extreme Outfitters: http://www.tacticaledge.com/

You will find background info from their site. In terms of rarity, SOCFK's are fairly prevalent on the market. There was an initial run of both Spear and Tantos (under serial number 100) which for the most part, went to military personnel. If you could find one within that serial number group in LKIB condition, you've done well. A couple of true satin proto knives were sold of by EKI a couple of years back which commanded very high prices (upwards of $2500-$3000).

The SOCFK ranks third in my list of Emersons only behind the Commander models and the PSARK. With the SOCFK, you get the best of all worlds in which you have the handle profile of the Commander and the utility Blades of the CQC-7 series. Either way, you won't go wrong aquiring one!

Hope this helps. Good luck!

the SOCFK is one of my favs, i like it better than any of my emersons except my EKI CQC8, and its a close one. i like the green G10 w/black tanto blade myself..........

a great knife imho

I thought they were specwar handles?

A small run of only like 20 SOCKF knives were done with Titanium blades as well, in the past several months. I've got one of them available for sale if anyone has interest.

Sorry guys. I posted in error. I mentioned a Ti SOCKF, when in fact I was thinking of the Ti Mini Commander. Sorry, to create any confusion in your minds. I've got too many custom Emersons to keep straight and all these production numbers coming out got me confused.

Thanks to the good assistance of the guys at Extreme Outfitters I was able to get s/n 085, with a satin p/e blade and green handles. Second to my Commander in favor, it is my most carried and most used Emerson ever sice I got it.:)
