I just picked these up off the bay for some projects and there wasn't much info on them. I do know they are old Coleman blades but can't find much more besides that.

Do you guys know if these are any good? I do think they are made and more. Is there a way to tell the age? I think based on what I saw, they may be from the 90's?

Any other info will help

Western R14 Skinner is what they appear to be to me. They were also sold under the Colman Western brand for a short while.

Thank you. That's what I was reading as well, but can't find any info on the steel used or overall quality of these

Do you know anything else on them? Possible age? Steel used? Overall quality?

I only paid 20 for the pair so I'm happy with whatever they turn out to be.

Beginning in 1978 and continuing until the mid-1980s, the stamp “Western USA” was used with a letter added beneath the “USA” to indicate the production year.

A-1977 B-1978 C-1979 D-1980 E-1981 F-1982 G-1983 H-1984 I-1985 J-1986 K-1987

The K signifies it was made in 1987. So the knife was made when Coleman owned Western. Not certain what type of stainless it might be. I don't know much about these knives other than I remember seeing a lot of them on the shelves during their time.

This is great info. Thanks for the help. These will be some decent project blanks for me. And they're the same age as I am, so even better

Thanks again
