I've got one of the cord wrapped models. I'll say this, you will not find a stouter little knife anywhere. It's thickness (1/4") leaves something to be desired as far as slicing goes. But it's good enough for whittling, etc. For the $, it's worth getting.

I have also owned a Street Scalpel and although I'm no longer a big fan of TOPPs products if I were to buy another TOPPs knife it would be the Scalpel. I did'nt like the thickness and if it were thinned out a bit to say 3/16 or even 1/8 it could do as a decent utility knife. Its also a bit heavy for a neck knife and the sheath did'nt hold the knife tight enough for neck carry but did ok for belt carry.
Mine came very sharp and they can be had at a resonable price. However I would choose a Woo or Camillus Arclite over the TOPPs and they run about 1/2 the cost.

Mine sees alot of work and has held up extremely well. It's a very tough little knife. I did find the sheath inapproriate for my use but had no trouble cutting it down and tightening it up. I've never used it for slicing food but it easily cuts and slices leather, cardboard, heavy nylon ect. I've had no problem bringing the edge back to hair popping sharp. The black coating has held up far beyond my expectations.
