I have several Watanabe's. They are an outstanding knife. I have one neck knife that I have used quite a bit. Your observation about Wayne is right on. He is probably the most humble and underrated maker out there....A few makers could really take a lesson in humility from Wayne. Congats. on your find.

I've never understood why Wayne hasn't attained more notoriety. He advertises, attends shows, seems like a very nice person, and perhaps most importantly, makes a really great knife with a beautiful finish. In the brochure I got from him in '97, he shows no less then 17 different patterns, each available with different grinds, and the prices are fair too. Give him a call and get a copy: (213) 728-6867.
