Information on Busse Knives from the 1980s Update: Pics added Update 2: Found another one!

Is the SAR “ancestor” the same knife that luethge picked out in his post?

I "think" he was referencing this one

Thank you for all the comments everyone! I’ll be sharing these with my dad so he can see what nice things you all have said. However he may see the value of having these in the hands of Busse collectors and pass them on. I’ll keep everyone posted.

I will also share any stories or info we get from Jerry once we can meet up and talk about these old things.

I do have a couple of questions.

What is a SAR?

Pics 12-15 is the ancestor I believe.

I IndependentGeorge SAR ( Search and Rescue ). The SAR models were a series : SAR 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 sarge , 8 and the SARSQUATCH. I’ll stop now, someone will chime in with far more knowledge on that particular subject than me.

Beautiful collection, and great back story as well. Looking forward to following this thread.

Here’s a picture I stole from the internet, posted by L l2lku2 here, years ago. SAR Series in its entirety ( I think ).

Although these are no doubt crafted in A2 Tool Steel, not INFI, I don't think anyone's going to complain, here :^)
