I am interested in finding out more about these arts. I'm looking to get back into some type of martial art after about a 16 year break(long story(pun intended)) and the Filipino arts seem to match my interest. If anyone could give me their input I would appreciate it.
I am stationed at Eglin AFB in Ft Walton Beach Florida. There is one local school that advertises they teach Kali. I don't know how reputable the school is but the instructor's name is Scott Harris. Agian any help would be appreciated.

Hey Droopy,

It's pretty simple to pick a school IMHO.

If they all stand in lines tapping their sticks together then walk out. If they don't then pressure test what they learn in drills then walk out. If they go too far the other way and spar to hurt each other rather than learn then walk out.

Things to look for are lots of protective equipment, lots of contact, lots of sweat, people asking questions and a combative mindset just like any other system that is any good.
Cheers,
Stu.
