Back in the 70's I purchased a fighter made by this maker at a local gun store. At the time I bought what I liked and what I could afford. I realized the other day I know nothing of the maker. Any information about him would be appreciated.
Thanks

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for but Dan died several years ago. He made good, very plain working knives.

I just purchased a fighter made by Dan Brdlik, and I'm also looking for information on him. I understand that he passed away. I would like some basic information on him if anybody knows about him - ie: where he's from, how long in knife business, when he stopped making knives, etc.

I would also like some information on the materials he used to make his knives. My fighter has a 7" blade made of 1/4" stock. It is similar to the Randall #14 blade style, with the top edge sharpened within about 2" of the hilt. I'm not sure of the handle material, either. The hilt is built into the handle, and I wonder if there is a metal hilt within the handle? Anybody know what type of steel he used? I can't say for sure when this knife was made.

It is simple and feels good in the hand. The blade grind is awesome, and the edge is nice and sharp. I may try to post some pics later. TIA for any info.

In knives 88,it says he grinds 440c,d2,154cm.Knives 92,440c is only steel shown. He lived in Prescott,WI,also says, full time maker, first knife sold in 1983.No listings after 1997.
