That was a good article, I think you would have to be a metallurgist to get the most out of it, but it offers some insight into the subject.

I emailed the Shanghia office and asked for a qoute on 20 pieces of 1" wide x 10" long ferro or misch rods.

Shipping via Fedex or DHL to my door from the factory was $200 USD, and the rods were $600 or so.

So much for my fantasy of building giant fire steels.....

although i am STILL really tempted to get the 3" thick x 10' long Mich metal rod, ,.........

Cool, I have a scout model, but I need a few army models to fit in my bark river sheaths.
Are they easy to come by?
