Inheritance knives

My father died earlier this year and I received a few items from his estate .
Among those things I inherited his knives .
The pocket knife that he carried everyday for as long as I remember and from before I was born is currently at a knife restorer's getting a makeover to bring it back to its former glory and hopefully allow me to carry it until I die .
Yesterday my brother came to see me and delivered another of Dads knives . This one was his " Stepping out , Sunday , Weddings , Funerals , Christmas knife " .
Again it was just always there at those occasions , it never got used much but it was always on hand when required .
My brother said as far as he understood Dad bought it , or was given it for his 21 st Birthday . I don't know if that' s true or not , but its the story I will tell from now on .
Dad was 83 when he died , so he got his monies worth out of this knife and the other one .
I wonder if others here have knives with family significance that they would like to show ?

Very nice Ken, good to see it reached you safely! I can see what your father liked about that one, clean lines there!

My fathers fixed blade that he used for anything and everything .
Like his other knives he owned this for as long as I can remember .
It was sharpened on the back step , with a chainsaw file , a wet stone or anything else that was nearby or within easy reach .

My grandfather's Schrade Peanut. He carried this knife, and this knife ONLY, every day for approximately 60 years. I carried this knife the day that I got married, and the day my daughter was born.

That's totally awesome! 60 yrs????? Wow, that's a precious keepsake for sure. It's in fantastic shape for so many years of use. Thanks for sharing (any other pics of it would be great to see sometime, I just love old worn knives like that).

OK now this is something that just happened yesterday - I was at my Dad's house for his 75th Bday party, and unbeknownst to me... He had his Father's old pocket knives! How I didn't know of these I have no idea, but needless to say I was fascinated and delighted to see them. My Grandfather died in July 1987, so these knives have been in a box since then. Dad was happy to pass them on to me. (I gave him a silver Alox SAK Pioneer for his Birthday gift yesterday).

This one is a Case XX and by the shield/font it appears to be 1940's era. I'm beyond happy to have this one to say the least...

These are most of the knives I've inherited from my great grandfather and grandfather. There is my dad's Boy Scout knife in there as well.

My grandfather was an Army SF guy on a SOG recon team during Vietnam. He carried the fixed blade on top. He also had this dagger with some engraving that I don't know anything about.

Also, my great grandmother gave me some old bullets she said were from the civil war, which I have included in the pics.
