Inherited knife collection. Identifications and valuations appreciated.

Extremely sorry to hear about your neighbor. I was wondering myself if he was a member but seems like he might not of beenergy a computer person. Either way he seems like he would of been out kinda people. Very nice thing you did and karma has come around for you.

I think this is the first time I've seen anybody come in asking about values , go buy a gold membership and have a great collection. You definitely have some nice stuff. Even if you don't need info on all of them I'm sure I'm not the only one who would likeep of see a pic of the entire collection. (If you don't mind doing of course)

Sadly, this forum is not very member/consumer friendly. Most people now take the prices down after a knife sells, making it impossible for all but the players to know the value of these knives.

You might want to look on Ebay for sold prices to get an idea of their value. You can sell here with your gold membership once you get an idea of value, but often Ebay is better. Take it slow. Do your research. Your collection has a lot of value, but it would be easy to be taken advantage of if you don't do proper research.

Obviously Microtech LUDT or UDT. Zoom in on the blade etch.

I inherited this knife collection from an old bachelor neighbor who lived above me when I moved to a new town. He was a great guy who played Santa when he was a little younger and worked for the mama Bell his whole career. He got into knife collecting in retirement and showed me a few of his collection when we were shooting the shit on nice days. One day I saw him trying to get into my car one weekend then going back upstairs. I didn’t think anything of it just that he was confused but when I mentioned it to my folks the next day they said I should go check on him. I immediately did and he was in very very bad shape. He was severely dehydrated and confused. I brought him to the hospital right then and they were already familiar with him. It became apparent he was not going to leave the hospital as his kidneys and other things were completely failing. He always put on a brave face and hen my wife and I would visit him (he was very fond of my wife the old dog) but the nurses said he was very rarely as lucid as when we visited. He passed on a few months later in hospice no wife or kids left just friends and memories.

Anyway he asked me to clean his apartment out which I dutifully did and made it clear I was to take his knife collection and keep the ones I liked and sell the rest. I also took many great books and a few pieces of art.

I feel like I needed to write that to do him justice and not just sell his collection willy nilly. He was a sincerely great guy and will be missed.

Here is the collection. I would love to know more about the collection and maybe some valuations. If you would like to make an offer please let me know. I have not included the pieces I intend to keep. Thanks for the help!

That A.G. Russell Acies is worth around $500. They currently sell an s30v version made in Taiwan for over $300. Yours is a long discontinued USA version in ZDP-189.

They recently sold one on their consignment site for $525:

I can't help much on $ since all of those are out of my price range and I'm not up to date on those kind of knives.

I'll offer up a few other suggestions. People want to know
1) make
2) model
3) condition in general (nib=new in box, lnib = like new in box, used - any marks of note, etc)
4) blade play - when the blade is extended and locked, is there wiggle up and down and/or side to side?
5) centering - when the blade is closed in the handle, the blade should be exactly down the middle. Sometimes a blade *leans* toward the pocket clip or non-pocket clip side.

Take a look at our For sale sections to see what some of those terms^ might mean (if you aren't familiar with them).

I'd make an excel sheet as write down any estimates people list for a knife. Between here and ebay, you should get a good, price range for each knife.
