Inkosi w/ inlays: Let's see 'em

Micarta isn't hard. It's not even on the same scale of hardness as metals are measured..So, no..micarta will not outlast a scale made from Titanium.

If I had to make a part from Micarta or G10, I would pick Micarta every day of the week. G10 wears out carbide cutting tools in short order. Micarta will wear out carbide, but it's an order of magnitude longer tool life.
Neither is a peach to make parts from.

I can see G10 wearing down tooling, as it is a type of fibreglass, but a micarta sheet it much stronger than a G10 sheet in the work I do.

Micarta will outlast the slabs if you happen to drop your knife in an acid bath. :p

Anyways......my main point is it is tough stuff, and is not soft or spongy (to the touch).

Micarta is more porous than G-10, bit not spongy to the touch...Natural materials as opposed to G-10. Canvas, linen and paper...Micarta is of my favorite material for scales..better grip than G-10 and will age/patina.

And to confirm what I've just learned, that tone of red will change and get darker over time? Perhaps to a burgundy?

Yes, it will get darker. Mine has been my edc since I received it around 2 months ago. It was a good bit lighter when it was brand new as compared to the photo above.

Oh look, another place to post pics of my newest CRK love interest. She's getting carry time and some use now, but I'm still being gentle with her.

One of her brothers goes to work while she waits patiently at home for evenings and weekends.
